Henric – sensory-stimulating weighted dementia doll
Henric, the little carpenter, is a sensory-stimulating weighted dementia doll, developed as an aid for people with dementia, restlessness, touch deprivation, or a need for extra security in everyday life. With his comfortable weight of 3 kg, his recognisable carpenter theme, and his many tactile details, Henric can support calm, presence, activity, and sensory stimulation.
Dementia doll Henric with weight for calm and comfort
A weighted dementia doll can provide a calming and reassuring sensory experience. When the person sits or lies down with Henric, his weight and shape can give a feeling of closeness, companionship, and bodily grounding.
Henric weighs 3 kg and is particularly suitable for people with dementia, restlessness, touch deprivation, or a need for sensory regulation. The weight can help the body settle down and may provide a sense of security when the person keeps Henric close to the body.
The large back pockets allow the person to place their hands in the pockets when Henric is lying on his stomach or held close to the body. This can provide additional hand containment and support relaxation, rest, and calm.
Sensory-stimulating dementia doll Henric with recognisable details
Henric is both a dementia doll, an activity doll, and a sensory-stimulating aid. He is designed with small details that invite touch, activity, and recognition.
Henric includes, among other things:
- Hammer
- Pencil
- Zipper
- Clothing that can be taken off and put on
- Large back pockets for the hands
- Different textiles and materials for tactile stimulation
The details can support fine motor skills, memory, and participation in meaningful activities. For some people, Henric may evoke memories from their previous working life or everyday tasks, especially if the person has been a carpenter, craftsperson, or has had an interest in practical work.
The clothing is attached to the body so it does not get lost, but it can still be used actively in care and in sensory-stimulating activities.
Danish-designed dementia doll Henric for people with dementia
Henric is designed in muted colours to avoid overstimulation. At the same time, selected details are kept in red, as red is often a clear and recognisable colour for people with dementia.
The design is 100% Danish and developed with a focus on quality, sensory stimulation, ease of use, and security. The materials are carefully selected to provide a pleasant tactile experience and to support the person’s need for touch, calm, and presence.
Henric for touch deprivation, restlessness, and sensory challenges
Henric can be a valuable aid in situations where a person experiences restlessness, agitation, touch deprivation, or a need for companionship. The sensory-stimulating dementia doll can give the person something safe and comforting to hold, stroke, and spend time with.
Henric can be used, among other things, for:
- Restlessness and agitation
- Touch deprivation and longing
- Need for bodily grounding
- Need for sensory stimulation
- Need for calm and rest
- Activities in care
- Reassuring moments in everyday life
The combination of weight, tactile details, and recognisable elements makes Henric suitable for people with dementia and others who need calming sensory stimuli.
Hugbeat as an optional add-on for dementia doll Henric
As an optional add-on, Henric can be combined with Hugbeat, a sensory-stimulating music and sound unit that gives the dementia doll an extra dimension of calm, presence, and sensory stimulation.
When Hugbeat is placed inside Henric, the doll’s weight and tactile stimulation are combined with calming sound, music, and a heartbeat. When the person hugs Henric, they can both feel the reassuring weight and experience a soothing heartbeat sound together with selected sensory sounds.
Hugbeat is an ideal supplement to Henric when extra support is needed for relaxation, shielding, sensory regulation, rest, and well-being.
What does Hugbeat add to Henric?
With Hugbeat, Henric gains even more sensory-stimulating features. Hugbeat adds sound and a heartbeat, which can enhance the experience of closeness, security, and calm.
HugBeat provides, among other things:
- Calming heartbeat sound in the hug
- High and low arousal music
- Sensory sounds and relaxing music
- White noise with the sound of the sea
- Nature sounds from a calm spring day in the forest
- Relaxing music that can support calm, rest and sleep
- Possibility of both calming stimulation and gentle activation
The combination of weight, tactile stimulation, sensory sounds, and heartbeat sound provides a complete sensory experience that can support people with dementia, restlessness, touch deprivation, or a need for sensory regulation.
Easy operation of HugBeat
Hugbeat is easy to operate in everyday use. The volume can be adjusted directly on the unit or via the included remote control. It is also possible to switch between the different sound tracks both on Hugbeat and on the remote control.
It is possible to set how long Hugbeat should play before the unit automatically goes into sleep mode to save battery power.
Hugbeat is charged using a standard USB-C cable. A cable is included, but a power adapter is not included.
