Collection of personal data

How we collect personal data and which information we collect
When you visit our website, use our services, and/or respond to advertisements or other content, we automatically collect the information that is sent to us from the device you use. This includes, for example, your name, phone number, address, as well as any information you provide to us when using our services or subscribing to our newsletter.
We collect, store, and process your information for the complete fulfillment of your purchase, technical administration, our own marketing purposes, and the prevention of criminal activities and fraud. Your personal and sensitive data is only disclosed to third parties to the extent permitted by law, including for the fulfillment of agreements or settlements, for marketing purposes, or if you have given prior consent. As part of order processing, for example, the service providers we use (such as shipping companies, logistics providers, hosting services, and banks) receive the necessary data to fulfill orders. The disclosed information may therefore only be used by our service providers to carry out their tasks.

Use of data for advertising purposes
Your information is also used to improve your shopping experience and to tailor it in a user-friendly and personalized way; to communicate with you about your orders as well as specific products or marketing campaigns; and to recommend products that may be of interest to you.
For this purpose, previously available information is used, such as confirmations of receipt and reading of emails, information about the devices used, internet connection, operating system and platform, date and time of visits to the website, products you have viewed, as well as information we have received from you (including automatically transmitted or generated information). In addition, we also use your order history.

Newsletters are sent to the email address provided when subscribing to the newsletter. As a newsletter recipient, you acknowledge that subscription to the newsletter can only occur through an active sign-up, and you are therefore considered the owner of the subscribed email address.
As a newsletter subscriber, you will receive emails with promotional offers, news, and other content that Oliz.dk considers relevant to recipients. The number of newsletters sent will not exceed two per month.
If at any time you no longer wish to receive newsletters from us, you may unsubscribe from this service at any time. You will of course find an unsubscribe link in every newsletter.

Banner
The information collected when you visit our website is also used to display so-called banner advertisements. This involves showing ads on third-party websites, primarily through the use of cookies or pixels. The purpose of these ads is to appear relevant and is based on collected data. Therefore, in connection with banner advertising, you will mainly see products you have previously viewed on our website or products similar to those you have viewed. As part of banner advertising, we work exclusively with pseudonymous data; personally identifiable information about you (such as name or email address) is not stored in cookies.

Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of text that is sent to your browser from a website you visit. It helps the website remember information about your visit, such as your preferred language and other settings. This makes your next visit easier and the website more useful. Cookies play an important role—without them, using the internet would be much more frustrating.

WooCommerce
WooCommerce is our operating platform. The cookies associated with WooCommerce are necessary for Oliz/Koko-Nora to function properly. These include, for example, cookies that remember which products are in your shopping cart, etc. This is solely to provide you with a better user experience.

Our chat function
Oliz/Koko-Nora uses a chat function, and cookies are associated with it. Half of these relate to the functionality of the chat—it simply does not work without them. The other half are statistical cookies, which we use to see how and when the chat is used. None of these cookies store your personal identity.

Google Adwords
Google AdWords is used for marketing. It is about offering users advertisements that are expected to be of interest to them. At Oliz/Koko-Nora, we have a cookie that records that your computer has visited our webshop and nothing else.

You can delete our cookies
If you want to delete cookies on your computer, you can, if you are using a PC or a modern browser, press CTRL + SHIFT + DELETE at the same time. If the shortcuts do not work in your browser, you can visit the support page for that specific browser for further information.

Google Analytics
At Oliz/Koko-Nora, we use Google Analytics. Analytics uses methods that allow analysis of your use of the website, which is generated from cookies that are transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Due to the activation of IP anonymization on this website, the IP address is shortened before being sent within the member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The anonymized IP address sent from your browser as part of Google Analytics is not combined with other data held by Google.

Product design and lifecycle

The Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2024/1781 requires products to be designed to be more durable, repairable, recyclable, and energy-efficient.

This is something Oliz Koko-Nora addresses by making products that can be emptied before washing. This allows the contents of the products to be "refreshed," so they feel like new when returned to the users. This results in a more durable product and helps protect the environment by reducing waste.

Oliz Koko-Nora also gives you, as a customer, the opportunity to have your product repaired if it breaks or sustains other damage during use. We just need some photos and information about the damage, and we will assess whether it can be repaired in our small in-house workshop. In this way, we once again avoid the throw-away effect.

Oliz Koko-Nora is also in a process of exploring alternative solutions for microplastic fillings. Therefore, we are gradually replacing plastic granules with glass. The glass is made from sand—not the kind of sand you find on the beach, but a very special, fine-grained sand. The sand consists of tiny particles that are almost invisible. The glass is produced by mixing this fine sand with lime and a substance called soda (we are not talking about soft drinks here).

Is glass a natural material? Yes, it is. Therefore, very little chemistry is involved in the production of glass—and there is no chemistry in the finished product. To be sure on our side, we obtain documents that confirm this.

Is glass recyclable? Yes, glass is 100% recyclable and can be used over and over again…

A digital product passport is something we, as a company, need in order to track our products. This means we must know our manufacturer and where the product is produced. We need to know which materials we use—whether there are hazardous chemicals in our products—so we always obtain documents or conduct tests for hazardous chemicals. If the products are intended for play or for children under 3 years old, we carry out the mandatory testing according to the Toy Safety Directive EN 71-1, -2, -3.

We are restructuring production to optimize energy consumption and CO₂ footprint, minimizing both usage and environmental emissions. As mentioned earlier, we can repair our products if possible. We also aim to source raw materials that can be recycled. The raw materials must be clean so that no time is needed to separate them. Additionally, we provide a warranty on our products for up to 2 years for any breakage or damage occurring in seams and similar areas.

The Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (PPWD) requires reducing the amount of packaging. Therefore, we only use packaging that matches the volume of the product, so we do not send unnecessary packaging to our customers. We have also replaced our plastic tape with paper tape. Oliz Koko-Nora recycles 5/6 of the packaging that comes into the company upon receipt of goods. This means that, as a customer, you may notice that some boxes look “used.” Many boxes still have a life that allows them to be used for shipping to you. We keep careful track of how much cardboard cannot be recycled, ensuring that we always monitor our waste output.

Responsibility for sustainability and human rights. Oliz Koko-Nora strives to be as sustainable as possible with raw materials. This way, we can look our customers in the eye and say that we consider the environment and the possibility of reusing our products for other manufacturing. For example, we use clean raw materials that do not need to be separated before recycling. For instance, our fur is 100% polyester, and it does not need to be separated when the product is recycled.

Oliz Koko-Nora uses workshops in the EU, which are subject to the rights established in the EU. Oliz Koko-Nora also uses a workshop in China, which has a Code of Conduct that protects the workers.
