Sensory stimulation by meltdowns – Big Bent
Big Bent is a heavy, soft sloth that can be used if a child is overstimulated by impressions. You can help the child use Bent by placing him on the lap and the arms over the shoulders of the child so they can feel pressure on the front of body and shoulders. Many children hugs Bent themselves but be aware that each child will react differently.
There are inserted weight bags in each arm which easily can be removed. There is also a wide elastic bracelet on one arm so you can put both of Bents hands together. It helps Bent to keep his arms around the child at the same time as it’s easy for the child to put Bent down again. Most of Bents’s body is made of fur while his face, hands and feet are made of linnen.
Bent is a good aid to help with a meltdown when children are overstimulated. If you are sitting with the child, it will give a great deal of peace of mind for the child.
Bent can be washed in the washing machine in a pillow case at 40 degrees gentle wash. However, the bags in the arms must be removed before washing as there is metal inside.
Bent has been tested and approved for strength (EN 71-1), flammability (EN 71-2) and chemistry (EN 71-3)
